Would love comments on CDI expansion on the pros and cons of outpatient vs all payer review. As we add staff, which benefits the hospital more? the patient more?
There are several organizational aspects that quickly come to mind that prevent any one answer.
If you are part of an organization that includes large numbers of physician offices; have a large ACO/CIN; large volume of Medicare Advantage -- then outpatient (physician practice) makes a lot of sense.
From a hospital perspective, I'd think moving toward all payer review makes more sense -- if there are not arenas where outpatient benefits the organization, then why do it?
