APR-DRG recipie (Disposition)

Hello fellow CDI, how do your coders capture the disposition once the pt is d/ced from the hospital. Or do your coders capture.

I know that there is a recipe for the APR-DRG including the disposition, but have you found that the disposition makes an impact on any aspect of the pt's stay, such as (APR-DRG, SOI, ROM, or financial).

    Hi Steph,
    The Coder's verify the dc disposition in our abstracting software prior to coding. At our facility the unit clerks enter dc dispo and coder can verify or change if incorrect. At times the disposition can change the final DRG and/or SOI/ROM. I've especially noticed on Neo's but have not tracked this yet.
