I am interested in knowing how many hospitals review Pediatric and NICU charts and what you are finding for opportunities for queries/clarifications. Our coding auditor has told us to concentrate on pancytopenia due to chemo; the acuity of asthma (exacerbation); and acute respiratory insufficiency. Are there other areas you are concentrating on?

    Our goal is to improve documentation throughout the entire hospital. We are reviewing charts in Peds and NICU. There may not be many opportunity for DRG movement, but we can help with SOI/ROM.
