clinically undetermined
Why is it necessary to provide __"clinically undetermined" as an option in multiple choice queries when we provide __"Other (please specify)" as an option?
Is the __"Other (please specify)" option sufficient in providing the opportunity to say "unable to determine"?

I think that this is to recognize that truly sometimes the provider is unable to determine the underlying cause of an issue or other question being asked. Of course he/she could type this in but providing the option acknowledges that this is a valid response in certain circumstances and prevents a big "I DONT KNOW!!" from landing in your permanent medical record ;-)
ultimately though, we are explicitly instructed to include this option as part of compliant query.
