Retro Clarification Queries

I am looking for input on policy and practice related to:  Creating a Retro Query for Clarification only (ie Path Report, POA, etc).   In your organization is Coding or CDI primarily responsible for creating these queries.  I do understand it can be both, but trying to get a pulse on the majority of the practical practice nationally.  Thanks

    If it's post discharge, it is Coding's responsibility.

    CDI sends 100% of the queries.

    Because we the CDI specialists have a good rapport with our physicians, the coders communicate their needs to us and we approach the docs for retro queries.
