Respiratory FiO2 calculation

Good Morning,

I’m hoping someone can help me with deciphering some documentation.  We are trying to pull out FiO2 values to help in determining SOFA scores.  We are coming across documentation that looks something like this:

 Vital Signs and Vital Sign Ranges: ..., Pulse Ox (%) / Oxy Value (Liters/FIO2): 93% / 4L, ...

In the portion of the documentation that mentions FiO2, Pulse Ox (%) / Oxy Value (Liters/FIO2): 93% / 4L ,how would this be read?  Is the Oxy value supposed to be liters divided by FiO2 or does the (Liters/FiO2) mean the value listed can be either liters or FiO2?  The way I’m reading this, is that the Pulse ox is 93% and the Oxy Value is derived from dividing the liters by the FiO2, giving the result  for Oxy Value of 4L.

Any help or guidance will be very grateful.

Thanks so much.

Laura
