Payer contracts
Does anyone have experience with persuading the c-suite to be involved in 3rd party payer contracts?
Many recent webinars include recommendations for CDI to be involved in the process, but I haven't heard how this was accomplished.

Good Afternoon, I agree, Clinical Documentation teams and Physician Advisor groups should be asked for their input regarding contract negotiations. My health system has a new Director of Managed care and this is the first time we have been asked to weigh in. While we are not directly involved with negotiations, it is great to know we are being heard. I think the first place to start may be a "wish list" or share the information you have as it relates to DRG downgrades. That may help get their attention.

We have asked and would love to be involved! So far we haven't gotten very far but my physician advisors are pushing hard for it and our CFO just showed interest in having us involved. Hopefully soon!
