RDS and Respiratory Failure

Given the change from an excludes1 to excludes2 in 2023 pertaining to neonatal RDS and respiratory failure, are you capturing both at the time of final coding and billing. Are you beginning to see denials? Appreciate any input. Thank you.

    Both should be captured when clinically indicated in order to accurately represent the level of care provided. We have not seen denials for this at my organization.
