Credential CEU Maintenance

Hi Everyone, I am a new member of ACDIS and have questions about cerdential maintence. As a CCDS, I am wondering if my CEUs for my AHIMA credentials can apply for CCDS or are acceptable? I there are CCS AHIMA members within the ACDIS membership--can we apply our CEU from AHIMA? As a CCDS will my workshops on coding and CDI be preapproved because I hole a CCDS? I have search the ACDIS web site and have not found any information. Please advise Thanks

    The form titled "qualifying activities" answers all of your questions. Unfortunately, when you search for it, you see 3 search returns and all refer to the form, but the link to the form is broken.

    On the ACDIS website click on the Recertification tab.  In the first paragragh you will see a limk "CEU Qualifying Activities".  AHIMA activities count toward your CCDS.  Hopefully it will also be the other way around for CDIPs.

    Does anyone know if price Waterhouse cooper gives crus when they do
    their 2week set up of program initial cdi program? I got them with
    online hcpro.

    I took boot camp and got 18 ceus for normal nursing liscence. Other
    people had training with pwc wondered if anyone had obtained ceus from
    pwc?

    We have PWC for an external auditor. Our auditor gives a CEU for the
    education she provides after an audit.

    Thank you everyone, I have located the PDF file. Now I have another question. Regarding Qualifying Activity #"3. Presenting seminars/speaking engagements (Two CEUs for each half hour of presentation time)". AHIMA has responded presenting for a employer as part of my job does not count as #3. In order to count my CEU, I need to present externally (with or without pay) to other professionals. Are the rules the same for ACDIS? Do I need to present outside my employment for the 1/2 hour for one ceu? I just want to check because I teach coding pt at a college. Thanks for any reponse. Lindsey

    I know with the nursing board, you can't count things that are repetitive or are refresher courses such as annual updates/training. I would think that ACDIS would be the same way. The first time you present something, you are researching and learning new information for the presentation/lesson plan so that should be counted, but after that, it's rote so I would think you could only count it once, not each time you renew.
