3M CDIS Question

We are preparing to change over to the 3M CDIS Software for our CDI program. Our coders already use the 3M coding software and the codes are then entered into Epic. I am curious if anyone using the 3M CDIS software uses a workflow where the CDS not only does the workup in 3M but also enters the codes and formulates the initial DRG into whatever billing system is used.

I would appreciate any input you can give regarding your experiences with this.

Thanks!

We implemented 3MCDIS in January 2012 and the CDS staff documents their chart review in CDIS ,uses the encoder and designates all viable DRG's for coding. I would be happy to answer any specific questions offline. Please e-mail me directly.
    Thanks,

We have the 3M software with CDIS. We do an initial working DRG that coders can see as well. The system requires the coders to note a reconciliation code if CDS DRG and Coder DRG do not match. I like the program after finally figuring it out. Please feel free to contact me personally for more questions/details.
