Advance my knowledge & skills

What would you all suggest to be the best way to further advance my knowledge and skills in this field? ...Advanced Boot Camp's...is there such a animal as "shadowing"? ...or even internships? My employer will not cover any expenses so $$$ is a factor for me.

I attended the ACDIS CDI Boot Camp about a year after I started. I found it valuable and I learned quite a bit that I didn't know before having to self educate myself as well.

I would also suggest shadowing if you can do that at another hospital in your area. You may also want to check to see if there is a local ACDIS chapter in your area. That will give you networking opportunities and perhaps even open up a few job shadowing opportunities for you as well.

I think you can actually do the CDI bootcamps on line now for a further cost savings.

  • If you can't attend a 'boot camp', either live or web-based, consider
purchase of related publication from ACDIS - "Physician Query Handbook"
and/or " CCDS Exam Study Guide".
