Our dress code is the same as the coding department. No jeans or jean like pants. No leggings/jeggings, sleeveless tops or tee shirts. We cannot wear sandals or sneakers, flip flops etc. We also wear white lab coats with our department name on them and a patch on the sleeve that we designed for CDMP. We round and interface with clinicians on a routine basis and are expected to maintain a professional style of clothing.

Diane M Clement RN MS CCDS

  • We can wear scrubs or business casual.

We also used to dress in business casual with a white lab coat and were
mistaken for Case Managers continuously. We have changed our dress code
to be black scrub pants, black scrub jacket and an appropriate (business
casual) top. It has helped separate us from the CM (a little).

  • We wear black scrubs with black lab coats and any kind of appropriate casual top. We are allowed to wear nice jeans and tops on casual Fridays each week!

And yes, we are also confused with Case Management who wear any color scrubs. But, we get the honor of being called "The Dark Side"......
