Documentation "Apps"

Does anyone know of any sort of documentation app (for IPhone or Android) that are out there?
Either commercial or proprietary consultant?

To be honest, don't even have a good idea of what I might be looking for.....so any & all feedback very much appreciated!

Thanks!
Don

  • Hi Don,
I use multiple apps on my phone to assist me in my job as a CDI. The most useful one is "ICD9 consult", Then there is "MSDRG2011", "BMI calculator", ICD 10 HD, and finally "Medscape". Other than that, I don't know of any other specific apps that would be useful in CDI.

    Don,

I want the app on iTunes/Android: Mobile CDI Solutions $4.99 on iTunes and $9.99 on Amazon for Android. (prob. going try out the iTunes version!) If you can get on iTunes site at work, it has some preview pictures. Kind of neat.. might be too basic but a good reference.
Does anyone have this app? I have the ICD-9 and 10 apps... they are ok... nothing that I really love about them!

No, but HcPro could make a slight killing if they wanted to put the
Pinson/Tang Pocket guide out w/an App. Maybe not the entire book but
Clinical Indicators, drugs for treatment, DRG Tables, CC/MCC lists, etc.
The "highlights". You could add it as an option to your yearly ACDIS
    subscription...hint...hint...:)

I can't find "Mobile CDI Solutions" on iTunes. I've looked under similar names too. Any suggestions?

    Thanks!

I found the Mobile CDI Solutions online which notes to find it on iTunes for $4.99 (but iTunes is blocked here at work) and in the apps on the android system... I couldn't find it on my iPhone since it is for iPad, if that helps. I can see picture previews on my kindle fire, but figured since the app is almost $10 bucks on there; I would wait til I got home on my iPad to buy it cheaper! -V

ICD9 Consult for iPhone. I just downloaded it so haven't really used it.

  • The iTunes app "Mobile CDI Solutions" offers a landing page after you log in that gives you a list of service lines:
    - CT surgery
    - Cardiology
    - General Surgery
    - ICU
    etc.

When you click on one of the above it asks which details do you want -"CC or MCC" and then offers a few choices of each. If you click on a selection, some of them offer clinical indicators.

I did not feel that this program was very robust, and besides, it doesn't offer the complete list of either, and I hate to think of this in the docs' hands - talk about "show me the money"...
  • Another app is STAT ICD-10. You can download the tabular for free (if I remember correctly) and the Index is for purchase. Very handy reference if you're working on this right now. It also lets you set favorites for particular codes.

The iTunes store has lots of healthcare apps. Many are free. I also have Medscape which is also good.

I searched several times this weekend for the iTunes version of the Mobile CDI Solutions App... According to the online site, the app was released in Feb 2012 and should have been available on iTunes. I guess I will purchase the Andriod Version to check it out. Did anyone purchase it over the weekend? I would love to hear a review before I buy it!

    Thanks,
    Vicki
