Inpatient Acute Rehab CDI??

Anyone know of someone performing CDI role in the inpatient rehab setting?
I am aware of LTAC CDI programs, but had not previously heard of anyone trying CDI in the acute inpatient rehab setting.

Thanks,
Don

  • We are an acute care hosital the has a 14-bed rehab unit. We are on the verge of expanding our CDI program into the rehab unit. We will be conferencing with the rehab management group next week.

    Laurie,

From the lack of responses to the original question, it seems this is a rare area for CDI to work in.
Good luck with your efforts and let us know how it goes!

I think the reimbursement for acute rehab is quite different from acute
care. We have an acute rehab unit but we do not review there.

  • We had a program in our acute rehab but decided to phase out of the unit, give me a call if you would like to discuss our experience
