Burn Int.Care Unit vs. Med. Surg.Unit

Does anyone have experience advising burn physicians regarding documentation to satisfy continuing stay in burn ICU especially when it concerns graft viability? I know about the usual MCCs that would justfy ICU in general. However, one of our physicians says he has experienced negative outcomes with grafts when patients were transferred to regular med.surg units.
