Physician Consultant for E/M presentation

My facility would like to engage a physician for a one-off presentation regarding E/M documentation and how documentation excellence in the Inpatient setting also helps them with their own professional billing.

Are there any suggestions for which physician consultant that can be engaged for this presentation? Don, you mentioned someone in passing...

    Dr. Robert Gold who is on many of our calls does presentations for physicians. You can find him on the ACDIS website.

    I highly recommend Dr. Pamela Bensen. She can present to physicians of any specialty, has many, many years of experience as an emergency room physician and has been teaching CDI for several years to numerous physicians.

    Here is Dr. Bensen's bio:

She has 39 years' experience in emergency medicine practice, as well as consulting on ED administration, performance improvement for patient care, patient flow, risk management, compliance, CPT and DRG coding, EMTALA, and HIPAA. She taught severity of illness documentation to physicians for 28 years."

    Everyone who has worked with her loves her. She has NO attitude and has been known to say "let the docs get out all their aggravation with me so that they don't take it out on the documentation specialists"! My kind of girl!
