Cerner and CPOE
Good afternoon friends! We went live with Cerner at the beginning of August. We are completely electronic and overall, I think our physicians have done very well. Of course, we are in the process of fixing glitches and modifying things that don't work well in practice.
One of the issues that we have that is yet unresolved is related to the patient status order. We have duplication of patient status orders, 2 different patient status orders, and the list goes on.
My question is for those that use Cerner. Have you created some time of rule within the build that prevents this duplication in your institution? Do you have a department that manages the patient status orders? Do you know if your policies for case management or UR address these issues and the "fixes"? I appreciate any input!
