ADMIT FOR IV HEPARIN
I need some advice for principal dx selection.
I have a patient that had a precancerous skin lesion removed on his nose in the md office. He also has a history of prosthetic valve. He apparently had been off Coumadin in preparation for this outpt procedure. He was then admitted strictly for administration of iv heparin until his inr is therapeutic. What do you this would be an appropriate principal diagnosis in this case. I spoke to one of our coders & she doesn't know either.
Thanks,
Laura
