Epic and ICD10
I realize ICD10 is still 2 years away, but we are trying to get a jump start on this big change. For those of you that are using Epic, have you considered or are you currently taking part in helping physicians write any or all of these: preference lists, Smart Text/Smart Lists, etc., to help them bring the correct diagnostic terms as well as clinical evidence into the record? This has been in discussion and I am researching what is being done across the U.S. and if this is within our "scope", etc. I would be interested in any feedback.
Beyond the Epic features, what else are you doing in preparation for ICD-10? Are you planning to hire more staff? Will you be working one-on-one with physicians?
Thank you for any information you can provide.
