statistics
Morning-does anyone have any National statistics regarding capture rate
of cc's/mcc's? I am trying to put a report together for our new CFO as
to how we compare with other hospitals of our size nationally in the
capture of cc's/mcc's. We have approximately 300 beds. I would
appreciate all the help I can get.
Thanks,
Wendy

Also, your PEPPER report will provide insight as they track CC/MCC capture outliers.
Hope that helps

Wendy -- glad I caught you for a quick chat.
I believe this ACDIS Blog post will be helpful -- http://blogs.hcpro.com/acdis/2012/11/tip-use-ipps-data-for-your-cdi-program-benchmarking/ -- discusses and shares some analysis of data that can be pulled from the CMS IPPS Final rule.
Also, the Impact File can be helpful for comparison to similar hospitals (just not to the secondary capture level).
Finally, AHD.com is a helpful site that has free profiling information for hospitals (much of it CMS data, but also other sources & data included). Also has more data available by subscription, but the free data is helpful all by itself).
