I was asked to be on the Advisory Board of the HIT program at our local community college and agreed to host students this spring (about 15-20 hours each). I plan to spend time explaining concurrent review and the query process, share the Practice Brief and the Code of Ethics, then take them to one or two of the units to get a feel for concurrent review and physician interaction. Because we assign a working DRG, they will also get to do a little "soft coding". I don't really have any formal plans yet, so will just see how it goes. If this turns into a regular thing, guess I will need to put together a packet of some nature, but not there yet:)

That's fabulous Sharon! We have an HIM school 2 hours away and some connections w/the faculty. In the past we have taken students but have not since we've had a CDI program. I would love to work w/ students!
