Improving Query Response Rate
Our facility would like to improve on our provider response rate. We would welcome ideas to accomplish this. Do you currently have a query response policy? Are the physicians required to respond to their queries as a result of Medical Staff Rules & Regulation?
In reading an earlier post on "Query Escalating Policy", I did see some of you are using the query as a chart deficiency. How is this working? Appreciate your feedback & suggestions. Thanks!

As an FYI- look at each CDS- compare their response rates. You might identify a problem with one- are the questions being asked appropriately? We are a two person department and when we looked at our separate response rate it was evident that our newest addition was not actively following up on her queries. She asked questions appropriately but if no answer she never sought out the physician. So a little education on follow up helped her improve.

Those are 2 great suggestions that we might be able to use. I think in order to achieve your query response rate, you need to have support from management. Additionally, we need to make sure we are performing at a top level.

Not sure why they wait- I'm sure most people take the test as "open book".
