RE: suggestion

edited May 2016 in CDI Talk Archive
Everyone:

Could I make a request?

When replying to an email to say thanks or request copies, could you
email that individual directly?
You can cut and paste their email address from their signature line at
the bottom into your email to send.

This would be greatly appreciated as there are those who receive "live
email" which triggers a popup on our computer screen as we are working.

Thanks and have a great day

I agree Mary, it gets very distracting. I enjoy the daily emails but the ones with "meat and bones" are the most important ones and since there s no way to filter the emails this would be greatly appreciated.

I have live emails and get the pop ups. I have learned to ignore many things from many sources that I don't need to address right away. I personally enjoy the differences in opinions and learn a great deal from the threads that I choose to follow.

    Thanks,

I agree and sometimes it's nice to be able to get the handouts without
having to do a separate request or having to send multiple emails of the
same document. This is a wonderful forum J

I find this to be a problem as well. I'm not referring to handouts or other information pertinent to CDI. These are very helpful. Perhaps CDI specialists could attach the handout rather than offering the handout in original response. The thank yous and congratulations are very interruptive and could easily be sent to the person individually. Receiving 10-15 thank yours and me top's inhibit productivity.   Thank you,

CDI is a wonderful forum and sharing of ideas and gratitude is an important part of CDI talk. I learn something every day from CDI talk and it is nice to also be able to share in each other accomplishments.

You can make a separate folder for CDI talk that you can look at when you have time, then you will not receive a pop up with every post as the emails will post to the folder

Great idea. I am not sure how to seperate it, because I still need to have pop ups on work email. but will check into it.
    Thank you.

Very good advice from all. I would point out that I receive live email as well. I have found that most posts do not include the personal email of the sender. When attempting to reply, I often would like to make it personal but that requires that I sign into the website and go to the CDI-Talk forum to get personal email addresses. Could I suggest that we include a signature on our emails which includes our personal email address and then we can connect off - list if needed? Just a thought... I often do that when it is available. In the future I will refrain from making such posts and for thanking anyone "publicly." Sorry for the disruption.
