Facilities With One CDS

Hi everyone,
We are going thru restructuring of our CDI duties. I know this question has been asked in various forms more than once but I need feedback from those facilities that have only one CDS in their hospital. Who does that CDS report to......CFO, Health Information, Case Management, someone else?

    We have 4 hospitals in our system that have one CDS (70 to 110 beds). In each case, the CDS reports to HIMS & the CDS is focused on CDI. HIMS falls under CFO. One initially reported to CM, but there was cross coverage toward CM function when CM needed, etc. & that negatively impacted the CDI role. Thus, changed to HIMS.

    I report to the CM/Quality director. I am in the weekend rotation for CM coverage but my role is separate during the week.
