Urinary catheter associated UTI

Good morning. Our progressive thinking medical staff are trying to assist in identifying urinary catheter associated UTIs. They are wanting to screen all patients in the ICU when a catheter placed. For those of you working in facilities that do this, do you collect a urinanalysis or urinanalysis with culture and sensitivity? Many thanks!

    We start with urinalysis. If it is 'abnormal' or 'positive', our protocol calls for a C&S. This is done in all locations.
