To add a little to this discussion I wanted to let you know I did offer up to JA Thomas the information r/t leading queries and the practice brief we go by. Their response was "the physician is responsible not the CDI". That they are responsible for their response and we are not responsible regardless of the query. This was very concerning to me. They also told us about a new product they have that is automated CDI. It prompts the physician to chart diagnosis in real time based on words they use, it also will send out automated queries. Apparently this is in beta testing phases and they are having great results....I asked who then would be responsible to the queries sent and she reiterated that no one has to be responsible for the query, that it is the physician that is responsible for his answer.
I found the entire presentation concerning. They are supposed to be returning to show us their CDMP program which is their CDI abstracting tool...
