SOI/ROM
This message is for those of you who use the 3M encoder with the APRDRG that provides the Severity of Illness and Risk of Mortality scores. Approximately a year ago, 3M and CMS made adjustments to the calculations on SOI/ROM, which has changed our data significantly. Prior to that we had very clear graphs of how the improvement in documentation also improved SOI/ROM, but now our data seems flat. Are any of you experiencing the same thing, and if so, how are you convincing leadership that CDI is increasing severity?
