    Not certain if this would be helpful. Something I wrote out trying to focus on several variations at different hospitals within our system. There have been at least 2 different physician 'champion' roles, influenced by historical consultant engagements.

    The concept of Physician Champion/Advisor/etc seems to vary quite a bit with scope, activity, expectations.

    The document I drafted may or may not be helpful .

    I've also included something quoted from: The Physician Advisor's Role in CDI: A Collaborative Approach for Success, ACDIS 2013 Pre-Conference Session, James S. Kennedy, MD, CCS, CDIP. Not all elements should necessarily be part of every Advisor's role.

    A surgeon would likely have some additional focused responsibilities -- working with HIMS/CDI to help determine complications, explanation of the 'hands on' for specific surgical procedures, ...
