Shared Progress Note

I am investigating utilizing the Share Progress Note functionality in our EHR for the CDI team to pose their questions to providers. I have come across a couple of issues that I am hoping others who are currently utilizing have solved and are willing to share? First I would like to know if you currently utilize the shared progress note functionality for your CDI team? Second I would like to know how you get your providers to know their is a shared note that they need to address? Thanks for any input that you can give. Mark LeBlanc (mark.lebalnc@hcmed.org)

Hi Mark yes we use the shared note function for query process. The shared note once generated sits at the top of the notes in the notes tab and is highlighted in yellow. If the next person to generate a note chooses to ignore the shared CDI query note the shared note is relegated to the incomplete notes tab for the physician to address. Once the patient is discharged the unanswered query / incomplete note gets deposited into the attending physician's incomplete in-basket. I hope this helps.
    Best regards,
