RE: [MARKETING] RE: [MARKETING] ABL Anemia/Clinical Indicator Query
My concern is that we are going to start being asked to confirm a massive amount of dx. There was a blog post by Cheryl recently where she discussed that before you write a query for clinical indicators you have to determine whether it is a reportable dx. If it’s not reportable, why send a query?
I have many concerns about this process (though I think its needed). I believe our MD’s will be frustrated. I think they will feel that we have been advocating for more dx (though in our opinion, not inappropriate ones) and now we will be complaining that the dx they have made don’t really ‘count’. Additionally, I worry that the coders will be hesitant to pick up dx that they have in the past because of issues like this.
Overall, the bar is being raised. I think this is a good thing. Just complex.
