Concurrent queries as part of the permanent medical record

We are trying to get back to concurrent querying after the inception of our EHR in July. I was wondering how many of you keep your electronic queries as a permanent part of the medical record. What do you feel are the pros and cons?

Thank you,

  • I don't mean to be a pest. My director is very concerned about concurrent queries being a permanent part of the medical record. It would be very helpful to me if I could get some feedback from all of you as to how different hospitals are handling this. Please advise how your facility handles concurrent queries and the medical record.

Thank you so much for helping me with this.

We are an all EMR five system hospital. Our concurrent queries become part of the perm medical record as soon as the physician answers them. thanks!

  • Thanks Jamie. Can we talk sometime. I would like to learn more about how you do your concurrent queries in the EHR.

  • We are also fully electronic EHR and our queries are a permanent part of the medical record as well. They were when we were on paper as well.
