New CDI training

Hi everyone!

I have a new employee starting in a few weeks that will be doing the on-line boot camp. I am putting together a schedule for him and was wondering if anyone would be willing to share what you have in place for new employees. I am thinking half days of bootcamp and half days of actual hands on learning. There is one checklist form on the ACDIS site and little else. Anything that you think would be helpful would be greatly appreciated!

PS I know ACDIS guide for this is due out in July, unfortunately I need it now. :)

Just having trained several new CDI Team Members, I found most new employees tend to tolerate the Reading/On-Line Learning segments in the morning. Leaving the more active components in the afternoon.
I also try to tailor the orientation to their learning styles and check with them to see if they are getting what they need, allowing them to learn in the most effective way. I try to be open if need be to change things up based on their feedback.
    Hope this is helpful.
    Best Regards

I am now going through my second round of orientation since our program has expanded yet again. I put together a orientation schedule as well as made up binders for each of my orientees with various information that I found helpful. I have attached the schedule (very generic and can be moved around as needed) if you find this helpful. One thing I found was that my online boot camps never seem to coincide with the start of my new employee orientation so I would have to wait 2 sometimes 3-4 weeks before they could start the boot camp, so that is why the boot camp is so far down on our schedule. It is VERY rough so feel free to change it has needed.
