opinion re. pancytopenia 2/2 chemo
I have a patient who by definition has pancytopenia. Currently only anemia 2/2 chemo is documented. If clarified, pancytopenia 2/2 chemo, I would have a MCC. The oncologist is documenting that her counts are normal and no one seems to do anything about her wbc or thrombocytopenia.
The pt received a blood transfusion. No neupogen, platelets transfused. Labs are monitored, but no mention in the chart about thrombocytopenia or leukopenia. The patient was just discharged.
I'm leaning strongly towards no query-does not appear to have been significant for this pt and there was no treatment... labs were still abnormal at d/c (so it did not extend los).
Thoughts?
