RE: [MARKETING] [EXTERNAL] Inpatient Hospice Patients
Great info Robert,
I am hoping you can clarify something for me related to this issue. When you are referring to ‘hospice’, does that include patients on comfort care, or are you referring to a hospice unit or hospice beds that are designated in your hospital?
In order for these patients to be excluded, are these patients primarily ones that were on hospice already but the hospice team was unable to control their pain (or symptomology) appropriately so the patient was admitted?
I am assuming this is a manual exclusion? Is this something you quality staff does or who at your hospital determines who should be excluded?
Thanks!
