septic joint

I have a pt. who is being treated for a septic joint s/p arthroscopy a few weeks ago. Does this need to state septic joint due to arthroscopy to be taken to a complication code? My inpatient coder thinks yes. I did put out a clarification but am curious as to what others are going to say.
