Hepatitis C and jaundice

We have a patient admitted with acute hepatitis C with documentation of jaundice. Our coder feels uncomfortable picking up the jaundice. CDI feels that it is a manifestation of the hepatitis and should be coded. I can't locate a specific coding clinic regarding this. Please opine.

    Jaundice is a symptom code and would not be coded exactly because it is a s/s of the hep C. Coding rules do not allow coding of signs and symptoms when a definitive dx to account for those symptoms exists.
