RE: [MARKETING] preserved EF
I provide CDI education for our residents and they keep telling me that the new preferred terminology is "CHF w preserved EF" not "Diastolic."
I just tell them that for coding purposes it is still necessary to specify if the CHF is systolic or diastolic since "preserved EF" would just go to unspecified.
I'd be curious as to if any hospitals have written new guidelines allowing the coding of "Preserved EF" to "Diastolic CHF."
