Does anyone have any insight into the changes with dx of hemoptysis? Looks like 786.3 (hemoptysis) is deleted from the cc list and 786.30 (other hemoptysis) is added. Is this just a change with the codes? ... Or is there additional clarification/specificity we will need to capture?

    786.30 Hemoptysis, unspec
    786.31 Acute idiopathic pulmonary hemorrhage in infants
    786.39 Other hemoptysis, (cough with hemorrhage)

    These are all new codes as of Oct 2010. They are all considered CC's.

    786.3 is not longer valid with the extension of new codes. it requires a
    fifth digit.
