RE: cdi_talk digest: May 25, 2015
We were on DocMS and we had to create the patient record in DocMS (no ADT feed).
Not sure if you are going to what I will call the "old CDIS" or the 3M 360 Encompass CDIS product. With the old CDIS product we had an ADT feed and we did not have to create the patient record. It was an improvement in several ways over DocMS. It did increase our productivity. We are now on 3M 360 Encompass CDIS. This product brings in the clinical information from the medical record. I like the design of the software. However, due to technical issues of the software and slowness it has reduced productivity.
We also have Epic as our EHR. Each CDI has dual monitors so then can see the EHR and CDIS at the same time. This is very helpful. We do round and have tested a tablet for rounding. Those are now in next years budget.
If you would like more specific information please email me at sabullock@umc.edu or call 601-815-3079.
