Pathologic fracture
Hi everyone,
We are still working on encouraging our providers to connect underlying osteoporosis to fractures. We are getting some resistance from providers because there are little to no financial implications associated with this additional specificity. Of course we have discussed the importance of accuracy of the medical record and such but I am looking for something more concrete. I swear I once heard something about this distinction impacting something on the outpatient side? SNF placement? Outpatient services? I can't remember.... I am wondering if anyone else has any additional information that may be helpful for making this case.
Thanks!
