In this week's contest I am seeking replies to offer a doubting physician who asked this question following a wonderful presentation by a reknown speaker AFTER he had left.

"Then why don't we get queries at our office?" was the question.

My only thoughts were-the expertise of whoever is coding your records, the difference between inpatient & outpatient,
until now your records have not been the focus of recoupment.

I do see our coders issue outpatient queries.

Any other thoughts?

I have had office staff tell me they ask the questions when the sit down with the physician to go over the calls, f/u issues etc. For example, one clarified w the physician about a debridement.
