Dual/double coding

Hi All,

We've been double coding for about a month and have found no discrepancies between our ICD 9 and ICD 10 DRGs. Wondering if we're missing something? Seems too easy. We are "natively" coding the case in both ICD 9 and ICD 10 (not using a crosswalk tool). Anyone having a similar experience?? I sure hope so...Thank you for any input or thoughts.

WE have had the same issue where the DRG's are not the same. I discussed this with our head coder and had her evaluate the discrepancy for those DR's and she said some had coding clinics for I-10 and the others are correct-but different, and they were told that there would/may be some changes relative to an assigned DRG.

I am sorry I don’t remember which DRG's they were but I think it was 392 or/and 395....but don’t remember the others, as I just called her when I encountered them individually!
