obesity hypoventilation syndrome
Hi everyone,
It is my understanding that OHS can occur in patients with BMI's over 30. However, in I-10 the code is E662 "morbid (severe) obesity with alveolar hyperventilation". So what do you do with patients that do not have a BMI >40, are not 'morbidly' obese but he physician documents OHS? This is a significant diagnosis for these patients, especially those undergoing surgery.
Thanks!
