Meditech

I am looking for CDI programs that utilize Meditech as their EMR. How are your physicians getting their queries? Our physicians are completely electronic from order entry to all other documentation. We do have some admitting paper work, advanced directives, etc still in the paper record. Our queries are still on paper. We have tried faxing, emailing, handing them to the docs when we see them, calling the docs when they do not get answered, etc. We will be updating to Meditech 5.6 in January. I am looking for ideas. The physicians say that they need it in the EMR in order to respond. Any help or ideas would be greatly appreciated.

I use Meditech Client Server and have yet to figure out how to send queries to them using the system.

We have Meditech 5.64 and are completely electronic as well. I have used a part of the system designed for nursing communication to send my queries to the physicians. Luckily for me, the hospitalists here have not allowed nursing to use it so when they receive the "note" they know it is from myself only. If you need more details, email me at ltaylor@wchosp.org.

  • We are currently building our OES in Meditech. We just upgraded to 6.0. I don't think we will even try to put the query process into Meditech. We currently use Claro but have just purchased Midas and will be moving to that once our contract it up. I have not heard of anybody using Meditech for queries but I will ask our build team and see if they know of anyone.
