Hello,
We have only been on this program since mid August. Not sure we are closing the queries correctly. Re: the impact on the DRG. Do you enter the CC or MCC even if there are other CC's/MCC's? Or do you wait to close the query after final coding and determine then what impact your query had on the DRG?

We usually complete the query as soon as query is answered; however we have 2 CDI lead who reconcile all queries when it is being coded by coder in order to show correct impact. If there is another CC or MCC, 2 leads verify if it's correctly assigned, and then change the impact to what we call for "documentation completeness" which would does not make financial impact.
