PCS code for a diagnostic and therapeutic paracentesis

Looking for help with a PCS code when a paracentesis is performed for both drainage of fluid and a diagnosis. If the intent is both what is used for the last character? If we code the last character as "X" diagnostic it is moving the medical DRG to a surgical DRG.

    I just learned yesterday that if it is for both it defaults to drainage code
