ACDIS Conference

I know this is a little early, but I am trying to get all or part of my staff to the conference this year. None of us have ever attended. Does any one know of any scholarships, funds or anything similar that might help?

    Yes, I plan attending the conference. Will attend as much education I can jump to. Not going to pre conf. Not taking CCDS but plan on it sometime this year. Look forward to networking and posters. Will prob go to some part of Disney, not sure yet. Theresa Woods, RN Jennings Louisiana

    I don't know but I was wondering the same thing.
    Also, wondering if there are any evening activities planned on any other
    days of the conference.

    Last year, some of the sponsors of the conference hosted various events. Not sure about this year, I guess time will tell. The good thing is that you are able to attend the conference!

    I haven't received any vendor information either. I would have thought I would have received something by now. Is everyone in the same boat?

    I haven't heard anything either. Seems this time last year there were vendors sending out invitations for evening events.

    Haven't heard anything for Wednesday evening. I will be arriving late that evening.

    Our Florida group gathered for breakfast last year on Thursday morning of the conference and that was really nice.

    So seems the vendors may be going "light" this year? Or maybe they anticipate people may want to attend the parks and attractions around Orlando. The hotel is supposed to be across from the Lake Buena Vista Resort which has some very nice shopping and restaurants.

    Morrisey will have a booth at ACDIS, but not a separate evening event for ACDIS. There is an ACMA conference that same week in Orlando, and Morrisey will be hosting an event Friday evening. Makes sense, I believe their customers are more strongly associated with Case Management products/services.

    From an email I received:
    We will not be having a reception in conjunction with the ACDIS conference, although Morrisey will be there as well as NICM/ACMA. You are more than welcome to come join the reception at the NICM/ACMA conference nearby on that Friday, April 8

    Our group from Florida will be meeting on Wednesday, April 6th. Will likely plan to have dinner together. Will send more info shortly, anyone is welcome to join us! I'll check into a few ideas and post them soon. All input is welcome.

    Thank you! I won't be arriving until late on Wednesday so probably won't get to join you. But I'm glad you are getting together- it was really nice to meet everyone last year!

    I haven't received anything from vendors this year either. I just assumed everyone would be wanting to go to the parks. The hotel link has specially priced tickets for after conference attendance.

    Thank you for posting that link! I hadn't really thought about going to the parks. This is a "blitz" trip for me -riding in Wednesday night and leaving Friday after conference.

    I may have to plan an evening at Disney!

    I do too!!!!!! I want to really engage the executive staff as to how important I feel this is for both our institution and personally! With the implementation of ICD 10 and the high visibility our program is having with the transition, it could only enhance my skills to attend the conference! I am so hoping it is only a rumor, and was so excited to meet other CDI's!

    Hello all,
    Our facility has not paid for the trip any year that I have been there. If there is any way you can afford to go and take the expense off of your taxes, it is incredibly worth the trip.

    There was a great ACDIS blog posted by Penny Richards Feb.11th which included a sample letter detailing the benefits of attending the conference. Maybe it will help.

    Our facility doesn't pay for us to attend so we have never been able to attend but hope to be able to go one year!

    THANKS! AS of right now.. (today :)) the plan is for me to go ahead and go to the conference...YAY...but only time will tell! Since the hotel is reserved, plane tickets purchased and Conference paid for, I am hoping things don’t change!

    If all that participate are national ACDIS members, the discount should be $161 off the $805 early bird price. I will verify with ACDIS later today.
