Injuries due to CPR

I was apeaking with our coding manager yesterday about how to code injuries due to CPR such as rib fractures or punctured lung?
If it occured during CPR that was begun prior to admission? Is it considered a complication of care or simply a condition that is present on admission?? Thanks for your input.

POA reporting guidelines define admission as the time that the order for Inpatient care was written. So, if the rib fx occurred in the ED prior to the order, then the fx should be reported as a "Y" when submitted.
