We've also considered ordering these cards.. We had another card we used in the past. But due to yearly updates some of the info. Is no longer accurate.
It was received well with documentation education.
This product looks pretty nice - even has online instructions.

We are using the Pocket Cards. Dr. Benson is amazing. We were fortunate enough to have her speak at the NC ACDIS meeting. We have given the cards to our hospitalist & PA's & others with great response.
Thanks, I like the Renal Failure one too and even the providers here use it on occasion.
I also have one which I modified from the ACDIS site on "If you are going to write, consider..." which is still a favorite of mine and that I give the original author full credit, one on CC/MCC's which I have updated for FY11, a few on E/M leveling that are pretty generic. The others are specific to VA documentation requirements.
Send me a direct email if you are interested.

We ordered them, and are just getting ready to distribute them. They look pretty good and have a LOT of information on them. I expect it might only be the most "studious" or "engaged" doc who will actually use them!
Regardless, they look like a great concise tool for a CDS. Nice quick reference!
I do have the original. We educate at all the new physician orientations and give them out at those. We also educate at some of the service line meetings and give them at that point also. In addition we have given them to docs when we have specific discussions with them regarding CDI. I think we have dispensed close to 500.

We distributed pocket guides to our Hospitalist last year and have just begun including a pocket guide in our New Physician Packet. When the new physicians swing thru we tell them what the pocket guide is and that it can be a resource for them to use on the floor. I have actually seen a couple of our drs. refer to them on the floor.
We also purchased the originals, and we hand them out to mid-level providers, as they do the majority of documentation for our hospitalists and cardiologist, who are our major "admitters"

I think you can attach a file to this string so you have a copy of the brochure you created to go with Dr. Bensen's guide you could do it that way or email it to me and I can post it to the library. Also, there is an online component to the pocket guide. If you bought the guide the link is on the front of the card. Thanks for all the responses. I'm glad so many of you use the cards Dr. Bensen made.
