CAUTI

I need to devise a query for CAUTI and wonder if anyone has one to share.

Also - this is the criteria we use for CAUTI - interested to know if any suggestions?

CAUTI – Patient must meet 1, 2 and 3 below:

Patient has an indwelling urinary catheter in place for greater than 2 days which is either still present or was removed no earlier than the day before the date of event.

Patient has at least one of the following:
• fever (38.0 C)
• suprapubic tenderness
• costovertebral angle pain or tenderness
** The following only count if the catheter has been removed:
• urinary urgency
• urinary frequency
• dysuria

Patient has a urine culture with no more than two species of organisms, at least one of which is a bacteria of ≥ 〖10〗^5 CFU/ml.

Thank you,
